Sophisticated Sirs of Saigon H3 run #98

The Hung Kings were a group of legendary nation-building Vietnamese monarchs who ruled from (maybe) 2879 to 258 BCE. They accomplished many great things, such as plowing fertile fields and erecting monuments, and evidently had huge dicks, hence they were named the Hung Kings. This year, on Hung King’s Festival, we honor those big dicked legends by gallivanting off to Cambodia to see how the local kennels honor the Hung Kings and to educate our neighbors about Vietnamese history.

On this exquisite safari, we shall take in views of the local wildlife and the exotic creatures that call this riverside, tropical, lush environment home. A quick summary of the itinerary is as follows:

On Friday night, we will meet at Harry’s Sports Bar (ASAP) and have what is scheduled to be a pretty relaxed pub crawl that shall definitely involve some food and whatever shenanigans we can find… I’m sure everyone will be behaving in a most distinguished manner – unlike when Gobblin’ King had to escape from a bar fight via tuktuk at Pontoon Club, his first time in Cambodia in 2014.

The Saturday morning shall be spent chilling, taking in the sights, or simply recovering from our pub crawl that is likely to get quite rambunctious. Later in the day, we will convene with the Phnom Penh Hash House Harriers for a majestic boat ride on the Mekong, followed by a trail through the wilderness and a truly exquisite barbecue prepared by the talented master chefs of the locals.

On Sunday morning, those survivors shall enjoy a well-earned boozy brunch and a jump in a pool, to cleanse body and mind and prepare for an expedition in the early evening led by our esteemed bush guides Sir Fancypants, Data Anal-ist, Kinky Jesus, and Gobblin’ King. Surprises are in store, both for attendees and the hares who have no idea what we are doing yet – but this hash, run #98, is likely to be one for the ages, if we can remember it.

After that, we shall likely be dead, possibly of cholera, dysentery, and chlamydia.

If you can take the Friday off work then there are buses that run from 4.30am to 3pm, arrival time in Phnom Penn will be between 10.30 am and 9pm. The cost is about 500,000VND plus 1,000,000VND for the visa.
